We are currently considering the use of a kevlar curtain to be placed in front of the choke manifold to allow us to pressure test the manifold while continuing to have personnel working on the rig floor. It's a high pressure well so pressure tests are 12,500psi. Before we choose to go down this route we want to be sure that the kevlar curtain will provide the protection we need, rather than just rely on what the suppliers have told us so far.
Does anybody know of any work that has been carried out on forces generated by failure of high pressure lines when testing to these high pressures, such that we can ascertain that the curtain will withstand those forces?
