Example; If I had a 17,000ft wellbore, say with 9 5/8" casing to
12,500ft and 5000ft of 8 1/2" hole. 1.7 s.g. oil based and BHT circa
130degC.

If upon a suspected well flow, I stopped pumping and immediately
applied a 'hard shut in'. Subsea Pipe rams closed in 12seconds!.

How would one evaluate that the dynamic to static flow effects had
been diminished before the well was closed in and that the pressures
resulting were not partially due to the 'transmitted' effects perhaps
retained within the fluid column dynamics of the system.
